It is a new digital printing technique provided by IRIS
3047 printer. This digital inkjet printer produces a highly resolution print
at 1,856 dots per inch, which is higher than a lithography and provides a wider
color gamut than a serigraphy. Thus, the image quality of Giclee' Prints (Iris
Print) providing detail, depth and richness of color greatly exceeds that could
be from a lithography. The printer also uses a continuous tone technology allowing
the infinitely small pixels of color render an amazingly smooth and consistent
image.
As the substrate to be printed on is affixed to a highly
speed rotated drum, each droplet of color is sprayed on to the surface at a
rate of 4-5 million droplets per second form each of 4 nozzles. The exact calculations
of hue, value, and desity direct the ink of 4 nozzles. This generates a combinationof
512 chromatic changes of highly saturated nontoxic water-based ink. An individual
pixel is generated by a combination of CMYK colors in 256 variations of each
color. Additionally, each dot can have over 4 billion possibilities for color
resulting in the perfect image.
Giclee' Prints (Iris Print) now has an expected life span
more than 50 years, while some original watercolors fade faster than this well-made
Giclee' Prints (Iris Print). Giclee' Prints (Iris Prints) is now embraced for
its museum quality by many famous museums, galleries, and artists as the closet
reproduction of an original artwork.
